Judge Wilson employs two law clerks for one- or two-year terms, running from August 1 to July 31 each year. Law clerks are expected to take the Missouri bar examination.

Judge Wilson accepts law clerk applications from law students who have completed three semesters of law school. Applicants should submit a resume, law school transcript, writing sample and no more than three letters of recommendation. An updated transcript may be submitted following the initial application once final grades are received for the first semester of the second year.

Preference will be given to applicants who are members of the law review or law journal; who are in the top 15 percent of their class; and who attend a law school in Missouri or are native Missourians.

Not all applicants are interviewed. Decisions as to which candidates are interviewed are dependent on the strength of the application materials – resume and writing sample. Hiring decisions may be made as early as February or March.
